The Toa Payoh Integrated Development and The Orie

The biggest change coming to Toa Payoh is a new sports, health and community hub at the heart of the town, and the developer’s brochure counts it among the reasons to live at The Orie. This guide sets out what has been announced. The details are as Sport Singapore described them at the groundbreaking on 5 January 2025.

What the Integrated Development Brings to The Orie

The Toa Payoh Integrated Development brings several public services together on one site. Sport Singapore describes a 10,000-seat stadium, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, an indoor sports hall with 22 badminton courts, and sheltered futsal and tennis courts. Beside the sports centre, a redeveloped Toa Payoh Polyclinic and a new public library will replace the existing ones, and Toa Payoh Town Park will be rejuvenated with heritage features such as its lookout tower kept.

The agencies involved are Sport Singapore, the Ministry of Health with the National Healthcare Group Polyclinics, the National Library Board and the National Parks Board, and the development is expected to be completed by 2030.

How The Orie Connects to It

The developer places the Integrated Development one MRT stop from Braddell, at Toa Payoh station, and the brochure describes a new 12-hectare lifestyle destination for the town. The existing Toa Payoh Polyclinic is about 1.1 kilometres from the site in a straight line on OneMap, and Toa Payoh Central Community Club about 610 metres.

Timing Alongside The Orie

Sport Singapore expects the Integrated Development to be completed by 2030, and the developer expects vacant possession at The Orie by 31 May 2030, so the two are planned to arrive at around the same time. Until then, residents have Toa Payoh’s existing sports grounds, the town park and Toa Payoh Sensory Park, about 600 metres from the site.

Facilities at The Orie in the Meantime

Within the development, the 50-metre lap pool, the gymnasium, the tennis court and the outdoor fitness corner cover everyday exercise, and the Canopy Garden’s meditation deck offers a quieter alternative. The amenities page lists all 45 spaces at The Orie.
